Client Bookkeeper
Balanced On Time Books is looking for a Client Bookkeeper to own the recurring bookkeeping work for a portfolio of small-business clients.
You’ll work primarily in QuickBooks Online, keeping each client’s books accurate, current, and ready to use. That includes categorizing transactions, reconciling bank and credit-card accounts, processing and reconciling payroll, tracking bills and invoices, correcting bookkeeping errors, and preparing profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reports.
Some clients will begin with clean books. Others will be months or years behind. You should be comfortable investigating discrepancies, cleaning up existing QuickBooks files, requesting missing information, and following an account through until the numbers actually reconcile.
Our clients should not have to chase us for their reports or translate accounting jargon themselves. You’ll communicate clearly, flag problems early, and provide a short plain-language explanation of what changed during the month. Recurring client books are expected to be closed by the 10th.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Understands cash-basis bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- Can identify and investigate discrepancies independently
- Manages multiple recurring deadlines reliably
- Communicates clearly with small-business owners
- Handles confidential financial information carefully
- Checks their own work instead of assuming the software is correct
A college degree is not required. Relevant bookkeeping experience, training, and certifications will be considered.
